1. Add the app to your phone

Use your browser’s Add to Home screen option, or tap below for the steps.

Installation steps

Android: Open this map in Chrome. Tap ⋮ → Add to Home screen → Install, then confirm. An Install adds Homestake Map to your apps. If Chrome offers Create shortcut, it adds an icon to your home screen only. Use the map.savehomestake.com address for the separate map app.

Homestake Map is a separate app from Save Homestake. Both 2D and 3D are included.

iPhone: Open in Safari. Tap Share → Add to Home Screen → Add. Open Homestake Map from your home screen, then save the offline map in step 2.

2. Save the map for offline use

This saves both 2D and 3D, including terrain, imagery and habitat layers. Complete step 1 to add its icon to your phone.

Checking offline availability…

Tap Locate on the map to show your position and accuracy circle. Location stays on your device. GPS can work without cell service when your device gets a fix. Keep the app open while using location.

Stay on public land and follow posted boundaries. Save again after clearing browser data.
